El Niño can cause:

• Heavier than normal rainfall
• Strong winds

• High surf and coastal flooding / erosion (up to a 6" sea level rise along the cost is expected)
• Creek and stream flooding and debris issues (SLO County Creek Care Guidance)
• Higher temperatures
• Power outages
• Fallen trees
• Hazardous road conditions
• Debris flow issues in burn scar areas (including the Gifford / Madre burn scars)
